How to Measure the DC Resistance of Transformer

In order to ensure the accuracy and stability of the transformer, we will measure the DC resistance of the transformer. The following transformer staff will tell you how to measure the DC resistance of the transformer.

1. The measurement should be carried out under stable winding temperature, and the difference between the winding and the ambient temperature should not exceed 3 degrees.

In order to achieve accurate measurement, it is necessary to wait for the meter to indicate stability before reading, but the inductance of the transformer is relatively large, so sometimes measures are taken to shorten the stabilization time.

3. The turning on and off of the power supply will instantly increase the induced voltage in the high-voltage winding, and safety should be taken into account.

When turning on the power, due to the large inductance of the transformer, it may cause damage to the instrument when switching on the power supply. Therefore, first connect the power circuit, then connect the voltmeter, and finally disconnect the power circuit.

5. In order to compare with the factory values or previous measurement values, the DC resistance values measured at other temperatures should be converted to the same ambient temperature. When converted to 20 ℃, relevant tables can be used for reference.

Only transformers that have passed testing can be considered qualified and ensure their safe use.
