How to Repair the Surface Crack of Dry-type Transformer Winding

The voltage level of high-voltage dry-type transformers is relatively high, and they often have the impact of high currents. Long term use can easily cause the coil to heat up, resulting in varying degrees of insulation aging and damage. In addition, due to the effect of the winding electric field, dust is easily adsorbed on the surface of the winding, causing varying degrees of discharge or creepage on the winding surface, thereby forming a water ripple erosion zone.

Dry type transformers operate with hidden dangers for a long time, causing electrical corrosion on the surface of the windings, resulting in short circuits between turns and transformer burnout. So how to avoid the operation of dry-type transformers with hidden dangers. The following Luoyang transformer manufacturer introduces the repair method for surface cracks on dry-type transformer windings:

Discard the epoxy resin in the crack area to form a polished area; Use electric epoxy putty to repair and polish the area, forming a repair zone; After the curing of the power epoxy repair putty, polish the repair area to make the entire winding surface smooth and even; Spray the entire paint onto the surface of the winding.

The epoxy resin polishing area in the crack area of the dry-type transformer should be higher than other winding areas; Dry type transformers first use a polishing machine with a sanding wheel to remove the electric epoxy putty, and then use sandpaper to polish and repair the area; The sprayed paint is polyester paint or PRTV anti fouling flash paint; Use compressed air to blow away dust from the dry-type transformer to be treated, and wipe the surface of the winding with a dust-free cloth and insulation cleaning agent; Wipe the surface of the winding with a dust-free cloth; Tie the upper and lower clamps of the dry-type transformer and the exposed iron core tightly with cable paper; Remove the cable paper that was originally bundled; Clean the floating dust on the surface of the winding with a dust-free cloth.
